Been taking my son (10YO) here for many years. We see Noel who always does a great job on my sons fluffy head. He’s also see another Barbers here who all have always done a great job. Never had a bad cut at DSZ. The shop has such a cool retro vibe, the staff is always friendly, my kids love hanging out and playing chess while we wait for our appointment. Definitely recommend make an appointment at a time although I have seen them take walk-ins.
Much better the first few years it was open.
For a $38 haircut the owner Steve could greet and thank a customer on a slow day, I would bet his mentor taught him this.
I have visited this shop over 30 times from Day 1 and even after their best barbers left. Blaming the staff for a low vibe while the owner can't great and thank customers is not a good look.

I was looking for a barber closer to where I live and found this establishment. Not only is it clean and efficient, the staff is professional and friendly. Most importantly my hair cut exceeded expectations and was completed in a timely manner. The time slots are in 30 minute increments. I reccomend calling ahead if you want a hair cut and shave which is approximately a 1 hour appointment. I had Melvin and he was great. Found my new barber. Thanks.
Really inconsistent cuts. I went consistently every 2 weeks for a few months and had to go back after multiple cuts to get it fixed because they either left my sideburns or didn’t do enough on the top even though I just get the same blade all over and it should be easy. Found one guy there I really liked but my last time there it was towards the end of the day and he didn’t do as good of a job as he usually did. I tried to speak up but he convinced me it was fine so I left and bought a buzzer right after. If it was fine then so much hair wouldn’t have come off using the same length blade that he did. Now my boyfriend does it for me and I get a nice even buzz every time without spending over 30$ (even with the inconsistency I always tipped well). The receptionist was always really nice though 🤷♀️
I bring my kid here almost every other week, no issues and great cut.
This time around after a referral to see Carl, my kids hair is AWFUL. As if he’s never cut someone hair in his entire career. After asking him to fix it, he said he doesn’t have time. He was already 18 min late starting my son’s haircut and then refused to fix his hair. Then I was told I was insulting his “work” and that he doesn’t have time for this and to go find another barber shop.
I’ve gotten better cuts at Supercuts. It’s been a couple years since I’ve been there and decided to give them a try since I’m between barbers. The cut is a mess and my beard is jacked up. Now I have to find someone else to fix this mess.
Edit: I commented too quickly when I originally wrote this review. It is an insult to Supercuts. It should read that I could’ve given my 6 year old scissors and I would still end up with a better haircut.
Made an appointment, ad hoc’d a hairstyle and it came out exactly as the barber described. Zero complaints. Great atmosphere, well designed environment and excellent staff. As a New Yorker from the boroughs. I stick with one place, one
barber for a long time and this place is it.
Fernando was great, first time there. Did a great job on the fade and trim up top. Took his time and didn’t rush either
